First blog post. No pressure.
It's been about a month and a half since the launch of Creative Marriages at the "Love Is" Gallery produced by Pursue Love Design Co, Utterly Engaged & Lumiere Curation on Valentines Day at The Portal in Santa Ana. It was a true labor of love that came together only through true creative collaboration, tons of prayer and a lot of shameless Facebook promotion.
The gallery was a photography showcase of the beauty of what "Love Is" based on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. We had a Live Art + Spoken Word performance by Antonio Appling (owner of my favorite restaurant in Bellflower, The Nest) with a video feature by 618 Studios.
We encouraged our single, dating, engaged and married guests to join us for a night of live jazz by the Dolly Birds, iced coffee bar from Portola Coffee Lab, sweets and treats from Merely Sweets and floral pop up shop by Milieu Florals + beautiful pieces from the Etablir Shop collection. Music, sound and lighting by Dlux Entertainment. We event had a photo installation from the photo booth images by Blank Booth.
I think my favorite part was that we were able to host an event on Valentine's Day (that can often come with unnecessary amounts of pressure or implications) for everyone to enjoy and honor on what true love is ranging from one to 65 years of marriage. It is very likely that we will host something similar every Valentines Day due to positive feedback from our guests and others who were bummed that they missed it! Actually, I would love to figure out a way to have the gallery up in another space for a longer period of time. I have no clue how that would work but I also had no idea how to host a photo gallery two months ago so I guess we'll just see how this goes!
Thank you to everyone who came together in making this such an unforgettable night for so many including Kelly and myself!
Also, special thanks to James Giovanni Pan of Lumière Imagery for the gorgeous images!!
